The purpose of knowing “truth” is to be able to make it work for you. You need the truth in order to deal with things as they are and get predictable results from them.
The specific application for which you need the truth might be different from another person’s. You may want to know the truth of a particular mechanical cause-and-effect relationship so you can fix your car. Others may want that knowledge in order to build a bomb or just to maintain their image as a learned person. The principle is always the same: You want the truth so you can use it to produce a consequence you want.
