During the Great Attrition, millions have left their jobs in search of better chances of advancement.

A recent large-scale study found that skills acquired on the job, as opposed to through formal education or outside-of-work vocational training, are linked to half of the average person's lifetime earnings, making continuous learning critical to raising incomes.
