When you connect with people you know, you don't leave a note.

So don't do it for strangers, as that will leave a salesy vibe.

Unless it makes sense: You have an opportunity that you know interests them.

Endorsements are a great way to leave a positive first impression.

Ask for endorsements from:

- Partners

- Your employer & co-workers

- Former Employers & Co-worker

If everyone knows you as the person who is good at XYZ, people will come to/refer others to you naturally

• Share helpful resources you made

If you're a writer, write.

If you're a developer, show what you're working on.

If you're a web designer, show some websites you've built.

Document your story and growth, and show people what you can do.

LinkedIn Groups are excellent for connecting with professionals in your industry.

Once you’ve joined some, get into discussions and offer help.

Generic Messages will usually get ignored:

Network with purpose:

Look at what they do, and ask an engaging question related to what they do/make a direct request..

4. Create an engaging Summary

Your headline is especially important to help people find you.

An engaging summary will make networking easier.

LinkedIn search has the best filters of any social media platform, use it:

1. Find location-specific results.

3. Find professionals in a specific industry.
