Antimicrobial resistance occurs when bacteria or other microorganisms that evolve and change over time become resistant to certain drugs making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread.
This has become a threat since microorganisms evolve too fast, making it hard for scientists to catch up and create new drugs for the infection.
