Materials for Wire Mesh and Some of Its Primary Properties

Carbon steel, galvanized steel, PVC-coated steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, copper alloys (brass and bronze), and other metals or alloys can all be used to create wires for wire mesh.

High strength, magnetic, and capable of being galvanized, PVC-clad, or painted, mesh formed of carbon steel wires is corrosion-resistant. Instead, stainless steel wire mesh does not require further surface preparation. Brass wire provides superior abrasion-resistance qualities, in contrast to copper wire's ductility, strong thermal and electrical conductivity, and resistance to air corrosion.Β
