As an individual everybody lives in their own mind. Each of us grew up individually with different social norms and backgrounds. So whenever people comment or criticize you it is based on their cultural and developmental background and also the day they have gone through. They'll say something to hurt you because they already had a bad day or hurt. So whenever people say something to you it has nothing to do with you and don't take it personally.
