Dolomite is a calcium and magnesium-containing component of limestone. The ideal proportions of calcium and magnesium are between 18 and 23 percent. These substances help your plants by giving them essential nutrients while affecting the pH of the soil. It's useful to be aware that sodium can occasionally be found in dolomite, although it should only make up 2% or less.
Dolomite is used by gardeners, among other things, to alter the pH, or acidity, of their soil. Dolomite is a great way to supply the extra calcium that some plants, like tomatoes, require as they grow.
