The most significant aspect of a person is their aliveness. The focus should be on the fundamental sense of aliveness within the self. Beyond thought and emotion, a person exists. Understanding this and creating distance between the self and the mind and body can lead to the end of suffering.

The mind is a sophisticated computer, and in order to understand its mechanics, we must first understand that there are no subtractions and divisions in the mind, only addition and multiplication. Trying to remove negative thoughts is not the solution, as our minds cannot be controlled forcefully. Instead, we must focus on distancing ourselves from our physiological and psychological processes, and recognize the fundamental sense of aliveness within us. By creating space between ourselves and our minds, we can put an end to suffering.
