The Root Chakra, also known as Muladhara , (derived from two Sanskrit words, Mula  meaning “root” and adhara, meaning “support” or “base”), is located at the base of your spine and creates the foundation for all the chakras that lie above it.  

It represents whatever it is in our lives that make us feel grounded . These needs can be different for each individual person, but usually include our basic physical necessities and also extends to our emotional needs of feeling safe & connected.
