Being proactive about addressing whatever took place demonstrates your awareness of the problem and relieves others from the potential discomfort of bringing it to your attention.

Be proactive

Offer a genuine and humble apology, acknowledging your error and the harm you caused to the other person, team, or the business.
Don’t be defensive or make your apology about yourself. What other people care about is your impact, not your intent.
For example, don’t respond by saying, "I am sorry if you feel that way." Using the word “if” in your apology implies the other person is being irrational or overly sensitive. It does not show any ownership of your wrongdoing.

Offer an apology

While it is an act of integrity and accountability to admit and apologize for your error, you will only rebuild trust if you correct the behavior or issue.
Share what you learned, how it’s going to be different, and commit to doing better. You may need to work hard to change your behavior and correct the situation. But without the correction, any apology is worthless, and people will only grow more cynical.

Make amends with those impacted

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives in our minds, meaning people remember your faults more than your strengths. This negativity bias means it’s essential to take action and not shrink back after making a mistake.
Find ways to position yourself in front of people and demonstrate progress on the issue to rebuild trust and shift perceptions.

Mastering the art and science of decision-making allows leaders to experience breakthrough growth. The more accurate their decisions, the more adept they become at steering their organization towards greatness.

Being a master at decision-making means knowing exactly what needs to be done and the right timing for making one’s choices. But for most leaders, this state of perfect clarity is a utopia. In reality, decision-making comes with a lot of pressure and confusion, especially when the stakes are high. It isn’t uncommon for leaders to feel tormented by their choices. They grapple with the fear of regret and self-doubt. They overthink, overanalyze, and second guess their best instincts. Their sense of inner peace vanishes as they wrangle with their options.

This all happens for two simple reasons: leaders are dealing with too much information and ignoring their intuition.

When leaders hesitate to make a decision, the story they tell themselves is that they don’t have enough information to act on. But that is rarely the case. Leaders pull information from a variety of sources in order to make their decisions. In addition to pondering their own thoughts and past experiences, their personal worries and fears also join the decision committee in order to influence the outcome. And let’s not forget the heaps of information that come at leaders from the outside world — all those who inundate them with their opinions, feelings, and ideas about what needs to happen.

Excess information is a distraction. It generates internal noise in leaders’ minds which makes it a lot more difficult for them to discern the truth about where they need to go next. The real challenge leaders face in decision-making is figuring out how to get rid of the information that doesn’t serve them while retaining the ideas that do.

It may seem like an obvious point to make, but the ultimate decision-maker is always the leader himself — not the information. Within each leader, there is a still, fearless place that knows precisely what they want. When they enter this space, they get to experience instant clarity.

This place is known as their intuition. It is the source of their genius and is capable of seeing far beyond the hurdles on their path. The purpose of their intuition is to guide them towards expansive decision-making — making choices that bring them more of what they want.

Intuition is a superpower. As a tool, it is capable of sorting through all of the bits of information you receive. You don’t have to run the risk of blocking out valuable ideas. Instead, you can take any information that flows into your awareness and use your intuition to instantly discern what is true and useful from what isn’t. This gives you permission to stop hoarding information. You can release the build-up that clutters your mind, spirals you into confusion, and ultimately holds yoy back from acting on your best knowledge.

Intuition is also a navigation system. It alerts you when there is trouble ahead, tells you how to navigate roadblocks, and lets you know when you are in the right or wrong place. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be intuitive, you have, at the very least, experienced it as moments of clarity in your life.Most of us have had accidental encounters with our intuition — and don’t realize that we can use this gift more deliberately to navigate all of our decisions, big and small. Our intuition is our built-in course corrector that keeps us on the path to success at every step of the way.

When it comes to boosting your leadership skills, your intuition is your best asset for steering people to higher ground. As a leader, you have a greater responsibility to seek the truth — and to transcend the influences of ego, fear, and other distorted information that comes at you from the outside world.

What distinguishes you as a leader from others in your organization is the impact of your decisions: The choices you make ultimately have wider ripple effects, for better or for worse.  Therefore, your leadership decisions have to hold a lot of integrity, meaning that your choices must consistently reflect who you are on a fundamental level. As you access more of your intuitive knowing — the source of your truth — you stay connected with the decisions that align with your true nature.

Here are some questions to help you boost the integrity of your decision-making: <ul><li>What information are you using to make your decision — and where did it come from? </li><li>What influences are coming through that may steer you down a less desirable path? </li><li>What does each possible choice say about the leader you want to become more of? </li></ul>

In the digital era, everything seems to be a single click away, it’s easy to forget that we have long had physical relationships with the pieces of culture we consume. We store books on bookshelves, mount art on our living-room walls, and keep stacks of vinyl records. When we want to experience something, we seek it out, finding a book by its spine, pulling an album from its case, or opening an app. The way we interact with something, where we store it , also changes the way we consume it, as Spotify’s update made me realize. Where we store something can even outweigh the way we consume it.

Digital Era

In 1931, the German cultural critic Walter Benjamin wrote an essay called “Unpacking My Library,” describing these relationships with cultural objects. In the essay, Benjamin narrates removing his book collection from dusty crates, untouched for years. The volumes are splayed loose on the floor, “not yet touched by the mild boredom of order,” all set to be rearranged on shelves once more. For Benjamin, the very possession of these books formed his identity as a reader, writer, and human being — even if he hadn’t read all of them.

They sat proudly on his shelves as symbols, representing the knowledge that he still aspired to gain or the cities he had traveled, where he encountered a book in a previously unknown shop. Collecting books was his way of interacting with the world, of building a worldview. Benjamin’s library was a personal monument, the same kind that we all construct of things we like or identify with. Its importance was dependent on permanence — collections are made up of things that we own, that don’t go away unless we decide they should.

“Ownership is the most intimate relationship that one can have to objects,” Benjamin wrote. “Not that they have come alive in him; he lives in them.” In other words, we often discover ourselves in what we keep around us. But the progressive relationship, the codependence or co-evolution of collection and person, wouldn’t happen if the order of Benjamin’s shelves and the catalogue of his books kept changing every few months, entirely outside of his control. That’s what Spotify’s interface updates felt like to me: a total disruption of the pieces of art and culture that I identified with.

Ownership

We don’t often think about bookshelves on their own, separate from what they contain, but they are great devices. They display books or albums and you can choose from among the displayed options in a relatively neutral way. The collector is the only one who decides how to arrange her possessions, ordering books by author, title, theme, or even (unfortunately) color of the cover — and they stay in the same places they’re put. That’s not true of our digital cultural interfaces, which follow the whims and priorities of the technology companies that own them.

They shift constantly and are far from neutral: If Spotify suddenly gives the category of podcasts a prominent new placement, for example, it’s because the company has decided that podcasts are going to make up more of its revenue in the future. The interfaces follow the company’s incentives, pushing its own products first and foremost, or changing familiar patterns to manipulate users into trying a new feature.

My lostness comes from the sense that our cultural collections are not wholly our own anymore. In the era of algorithmic feeds, it’s as if the bookshelves have started changing shape on their own in real time, shuffling some material to the front and downplaying the rest like a sleight-of-hand magician trying to make you pick a specific card — even as they let you believe it’s your own choice. And this lack of agency is undermining our connections to the culture that we love.

We lose our confidence when someone surpasses us. But, we were confident when we were at the top. This competitive atmosphere is usually witnessed in the workspace, school, or an event. Well, we have heard about exercising in every place. But when we start doing it for some while, we will comprehend the wisdom. Scientifically, a neurotransmitter named Endorphin acts to increase feelings of pleasure and well-being. This is released through exercise. Exercising helped me too. When I walked at the park for 40/60 minutes for some days, I started to see changes in my confidence level and my brain functioned. And, when I didn't walk for a few consecutive days, I could feel that I was feeling anxious and it affected my mood, studies and confidence as well.
