It sounds easy and hard at the same time. There is usually a set of questions we keep asking, either ourselves or others. These questions shift our focus to specifics. When you pick up questions that others ask, it allows you to broaden that focus, and in turn become better at asking questions.

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish playwright, poet, and author of numerous short stories, and one novel. Known for his biting wit, and a plentitude of aphorisms, he became one of the most successful playwrights of the late Victorian era in London, and one of the greatest celebrities of his day. Several of his plays continue to be widely performed, especially The Importance of Being Earnest. As the result of a widely covered series of trials, Wilde suffered a dramatic downfall and was imprisoned for two years hard labour after being convicted of "gross indecency" with other men. After Wilde was released from prison he set sail for Dieppe by the night ferry. He never returned to Ireland or Britain, and died in poverty.

As the Technocore AI civilisation was evolving into an ultimate form it met the Human Ultimate. It met God. What they realized is that God’s trinity is made of:<ol><li>the Void Which Binds</li><li>Intellect</li><li>Empathy</li></ol>The machines did not poses Empathy so:<ul><li>they tried to bait the Human God using empathy as its weakness. This is the role of the Shrike.</li><li>they worked on developing empathy by trying to understand poetry. It's why they focused on reviving John Keats. To understand the human spirit through poetry.</li></ul>

The Ultimate Fight between the AI God and Human God

As the AI was working on becoming God, the humans are struggling with accepting one:<ul><li>Sol, a Jew scholar who's daughter is aging backwards, rejected him for cruelty and demand for obedience: “Abraham’s path of obedience can no longer be followed, even if there is a God demanding such obedience.”</li><li>Father Dure, a Jesuit priest who was revived by a mysterious crucifix, was struggling with God as a clever algorithm. Not accepting that some things are beyond intellect.</li></ul>

Accepting God vs Creating God

Father Dure was a disciple of Teilhard de Chardin, a controversial Jesuit priest from the XX century. Teilhard’s God is not a mystical concept, but a cosmic one. He proposed that the cosmic body of Christ "extends throughout the universe and comprises all things that attain their fulfillment in Christ .. the Body of Christ is the one single thing that is being made in creation."This process of God expansion and evolution will continue, it is proposed, until its full realization at Omega, a point which coincides with the fully realized Christ. It is at this point that God will be "all in all”.

Teilhard’s God

Sol understood at the end, why Abraham had agreed to sacrifice Isaac, his son, when the Lord commanded him to do so. It was not obedience. It was not even to put the love of God above the love of his son. Abraham was testing God. Beers in the early 20th century - argued that happiness was largely a result of how individuals related to society. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">“Social consciousness is the core of adjustment and happiness,” Berg stated in his 1933 textbook The Human Personality, with extroverts far more likely to be happy than those who shield away from interaction with others.</li></ul>

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">R.M. MacIver argued in his 1955 The Pursuit of Happiness: A <a href="https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/basics/philosophy">Philosophy</a> for Modern Living, with only living in the “momentary now” leading to the type of happiness that so many were seeking. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Anticipating the kind of thinking in the field that was a few decades away - notably the concept of “flow” - MacIver recognized that time tended to stand still or disappear when one was truly happy, with only the present able to offer that level of transcendence.</li></ul>

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Equally impressive, McIver was keenly aware of the individualization of happiness, i.e., that it was a different experience for everyone, this too making him ahead of his time. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">“Happiness is the resonance of the whole being as it moves towards that which fulfills it,” MacIver poetically wrote, nicely boiling down the abstract concept into “the harmony within you.”</li></ul>

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">By the 1980s, however, advances in <a href="https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/basics/genetics">genetics</a> were making psychologists rethink the dynamics of happiness. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Unhappiness had a strong genetic component while happiness did not, according to a study led by Edward Diener of the University of Illinois, implying that the former (unhappiness) was mostly a function of nature and the other (happiness) mostly of nurture.</li></ul>

Relation Between Happiness And Genetics

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">The research also suggested that happiness and unhappiness were thus not, as logic dictated, opposite or inverse emotions; rather, the two appeared to operate independently.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Ridding oneself of some unhappiness in life therefore did not mean that one would become any happier, a counterintuitive notion that threw a monkey wrench into much of the out-with-the-bad, in-with-the-good brand of <a href="https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/basics/self-help">self-help</a> being cast about at the time. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">The good news was that, at least according to this research, happiness was not genetically preordained, and could thus be achieved by those who were determined to find it.</li></ul>

Happiness And Unhappiness Operate Independently 

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">In the 1990s, serious scholarly inquiry into the psychology of happiness was leading to new insights. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">In their article “Who Is Happy?” published in Psychological Science in May 1996, for example, Diener and David Myers argued that happiness was spread out evenly over the course of a lifetime - something not commonly believed. </li></ul>

Diener and David Myers also found 4 personal traits to be associated with high levels of happiness: <ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Extroversion </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Optimism </li><li class="ql-align-justify">High self-esteem, and </li><li class="ql-align-justify">The feeling that one was in control of one’s life.</li></ol>

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Advancements in neuroscience and the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 each had a direct effect on the trajectory of happiness. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Individuals had what could be considered a happiness gene, scientists were concluding, making one’s relative state of happiness or unhappiness more a matter of biology than psychology. </li></ul>

Happiness Gene Makes Happiness A Matter Of Biology Instead 

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">MRI scans plainly revealed when a person was happy, with that part of his or her brain lighting up like a Christmas tree. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Altering one’s happiness gene could one day be possible, more scientists were beginning to think, with such an approach envisioned as being far more effective than all the how-tos grounded in some kind of attitudinal or behavioral modification put together.</li></ul>

Stoics used this phrase as a reminder of the impermanence of life & the importance of living each day to 100%.<ul><li>Death is inevitable. Stoics believe that death is a natural part of life and that it is something that we should all accept.</li><li>Death can be a motivating factor. Stoics believed that if we knew that our time was limited, we would be more likely to focus on what is truly important.</li><li>Death can be a source of peace. Stoics also believed that the awareness of death could bring us peace of mind.</li></ul>

A good character cannot be developed without a proper understanding and implementation of all three Stoic disciplines, which are:<ol><li>The discipline of desire (also referred to as Stoic acceptance)</li><li>The discipline of action (known also as Stoic philanthropy, in the sense of concern for others)</li><li>The discipline of assent (or Stoic mindfulness) </li></ol>
