A large asteroid struck our planet and killed dinosaurs about 66 million years ago, according to archaeological studies.
This theory is widely accepted, but new research shows that the dinosaur population and the various species were in a state of steep decline many million years before the asteroid hit Mexico.
In 2010, Marina Abramovic performed The Artist is Present, where she sat for eight hours a day for three months. In this special exhibit, Abramovic is sitting in one of the galleries. You wait in line to sit across her. Some people sit for a moment, others for long stretches. The experience is like looking at a living painting.
She trained for months to build the physical stamina to perform the piece. She commented on how the performance demonstrated the deep need for people to connect.
For many ages, space was pristine. In 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1 into orbit, but when the batteries died, the aluminium satellite marked the end of an unspoiled era.
According to NASA, the space above Earth is now the world's largest garbage dump. It consists of 8,000 tons of human junk, or space debris, left by space agencies over the last six decades.
Plants are pretty. They are affordable and can enhance a space and encourage cleaner air, often resulting in a better mood and more focused concentration.
But for the super busy, somewhat lazy, and possibly intimated person, they can be hard to keep alive. Knowing what the plants need can help us do better.
The most important thing to keep in mind when learning ikigai is that form follows intent.
"One thing I've learned as an adult that I didn't realize as a kid is how precisely you have to aim at a goal to hit it. If you choose to optimize something even slightly off to the side, you'll sometimes achieve almost nothing toward your intended goal."
After learning to cycle, most people won't forget how to pedal a bike even after decades.
Learning how to cycle requires higher-level thinking.
While we use muscle movement and brain connection in other activities like dancing, sports, and walking, we don' use it all simultaneously like when we cycle.
A black hole is, like the name itself, a point of singularity and infinite density, which remains invisible, much like the event horizon, which is the surface.
A black hole, from a distance, carries the same properties of mass and gravity like a star would, without the light, heat, warmth and radiation.
