To be honest, by the title of the book, I thought it's a story of Buddha but as it is already said , never judge a book by it's cover, I got to know it's a story of a brahmin boy, Siddhartha, who sets off on a pilgrimage to reach enlightenment. He experiences life as a pious brahmin, a Samana, a rich merchant, a lover and an ordinary ferryman to a father.

I like the character, Siddhartha, because all of the lessons he has learned remain clear in his mind, he perceives the beauty of the world and he feels a sense of energy in moving forward. He is always confident that he will find the way by himself although he is not sure about what exactly it will be but still he feels confident, this impressed me alot.

When the main character, Siddhartha meets the actual Budhha and is deeply impressed by him, but he still believes that truth is something one must find on his own and tries to find it through his own life experiences but I think, one can't live long enough to find the truth through his/her own life experiences, some people get the truth in less time but its also possible that some didn't get it then they should understand it from other's life experiences.

This book made me realise the importance of a river which taught me to listen, to pay close attention with a quiet heart, with a waiting, opened soul, without passion, without a wish, without judgement, without an opinion, that it is good to strive downwards, to sink, to seek depth in life, it knows everything and everything can be learned from it.

This story is a fiction, still when you read it you'll be hooked by the themes, character, their life happenings, emotions, and everything. It's just a simple story with beautiful teachings and absolutely amazing and easy to understand. This book showed me that there are no wrong paths in life and each road brings you where you are supposed to be. Beautifully written and a deeply personal story. The journey of self-discovery.
