I was complaining to him about people being bad. I was saying: “I don’t understand: Why are people bad? How do people sleep at night? Why do they do this, why do they do that? I’ve been screwed over by people all the time and I’m the good person.”
And he said: “No, no, no. Why do you look at things like that? Think of it in this way: We are all vessels. If people took the love from you, if they took the time from you, let them keep it; they needed it. You were part of their prayer: God answered their prayer through you.”

And that resonated so much in me, that every time someone does me wrong now, yes, I’m human, I get hurt, but the pain is not what it used to be, because I’m like: “You know what? I’m sure God answered their prayer through me.”
And then I look up at God and I say: “God, you have such an amazing sense of humour!”
