Mastering Project Management

The only actionable Output Element in ICOR® is the "task".

Tasks range in duration from 15 minutes to 3 hours.

They could even be under 15 minutes. It’s what we call a “speedy”, a concept we explain further in our “Task Management like a Pro!” course.

Every task should start with an action verb like Create, Design, Write.

This ensures clarity and motivation, setting a clear outcome expectation. 

For complex tasks, break them down into sub-tasks.

This maintains clarity and ensures each step aligns with the overall goal. 

ICOR® non-actionable Output Elements are:

• Goals
• Projects
• Workstreams
• Operations

They help group tasks, keeping them aligned with overarching goals for strategic progress.

Goals in ICOR® are more than targets; they're directional paths ensuring adaptability and focus in your project management system.

Projects encapsulate specific activities with set timelines.

Workstreams handle ongoing tasks.

Operations cover unique tasks like admin duties.

ICOR® structures Output Elements hierarchically:

• Level 1: Goals
• Level 2: Projects, Workstreams, Operations
• Level 3: Tasks.
