Aqeedah and leadership

To be a good leader, a great personality must be built from the inside.

That's where aqeedah comes in. It is a belief system that require a believer to strive towards becoming a better servant to the One and Only God.

Once the main goal has been set, the journey to achieve it will become clearer. Aqeedah is important in order for a leader to treat any other things as an obstacle or part of the process to achieve the goal.

Aqeedah can help distinguish any negative intentions or selfish thoughts from a leader's mindset and helps develop skillsets that are useful in leading a group of people, a society, or a country.

Planning Action (full)

Simply being a leader is not the final step. It is one of the many processes that one need to be in, in order to achieve the next level and the next.

As a leader, the first action you need to take is to nurture yourself and the people you lead. In another words, tarbiah yourself and others. To nurture is to ensure positive development of a person physically, mentally and spiritually.

Next, you need teamwork. To always be in a group whether to make decisions or taking actions. The aim of that group must be to do good and stopping evils and to encourage behaviours that protect the well-being of the people.

Third, a leader is someone that walk the talk. You cannot lead from behind your fancy desk. You must be in the field in front of your followers so that they can follow you and strengthen their confidence in you.

Lastly, implementing Islam as a whole. That is the ultimate goal of a Muslim leader as well as all the Prophets. To implement Islam and maintain it for the well-being of the people.
