The fundamentals of any UI Designer to know are:<ul><li>color & contrast</li><li>white space (the space between design elements)</li><li>visual hierarchy (fonts, bold, italic, etc)</li><li>complexity vs simplicity</li><li>consistency</li><li>scale (size of the text and design) </li></ul>
