Ch1-A journey

-My friend, in taking a journey into the secret corners of our minds, we must travel light; we cannot be burdened with opinions, prejudices and conclusions.

-Seeing what I am actually, is the first step towards realising my full potential.

Ch2-The field of thought and understanding

-To see the beauty of your whole being, don't agree or disagree(intellectually), but follow with the intention to understand.

-Your reaction to a challenge reveals your conditioning.

-Give total attention to your conditioning, you will see that you are free from the past completely, that it falls away from you naturally.

Ch3-The totality

-Concentration is exclusion; attention, which is total awareness, excludes nothing.Such state of attention is total energy; in such awareness the totality of yourself is revealed in an instant.

-Order will come by watching, being chiocelessly aware, NEVER trying to shape it, taking sides, opposing, agreeing, justifying, condemning, judging - which means watching it without any choice.

-Control in any form, like suppression, produces only conflict. Studying with ATTENTION brings about its own discipline in which there is no suppression.

Ch4-Pleasure=pain & joy=freedom

-Thought is never new, a response of memory, an energy vampire forever old, projecting desire, the repetition of pleasure making you dull & him stronger

-Awareness is liberating light, ever new, dispelling the darkness of ignorance. You discover freedom and joy was ever here.

Ch5-Do you know your fears ?

-Run, justify, condemn, escape from fear and it gets stronger. Observe the fear and your reaction to it.

-Thought projects itself psychologically as the future and the past, creating fear as well as pleasure, the mind is made dull and therefore inaction is inevitable.

-Time is a movement which man has divided into past, present and future, and as long as he divides it he will always be in conflict. You cannot become free gradually. It is now !

Ch6-End of conflict

-Relationship between human beings is based on the image-forming, (self-image) defensive mechanism.

-Don't: imitate, follow, compare, as there is a division between `what should be' and `what is', and any conflict is a dissipation of energy.

-Contradiction exists when there is comparison, not only with something or somebody, but with what you were yesterday, and hence there is conflict between what has been and what is.

-The fact is what you are, by comparing you are fragmenting the fact which is a waste of energy. To see without any comparison gives you tremendous energy to look.

Ch7-Dieing is living

-To live completely, wholly, every day as if it were a new loveliness, there must be dying to everything of yesterday, otherwise you "live" mechanically, and a mechanical mind can never know what love is or what freedom is.

-Freedom from the known is death, and then you are living.

-You cannot be frightened of the unknown because you do not know what the unknown is and so there is nothing to be frightened of. Death is a word, and it is the word, the image, that creates fear.

Ch8-Love

-When you love, is there an observer? There is an observer only when love is desire and pleasure. When desire and pleasure are not associated with love, then love is intense, like beauty, something totally new every day, it has no today and no tomorrow. It is only when we see without any preconception, any image, that we are able to be in direct contact with anything in life.

-Life is very real - not an abstraction - when you meet it with images there are problems.

-When you give your complete attention, that total energy is the highest form of intelligence. not disciplined stillness.

Ch9-The observer is the observed

-The observer, the central image, the judge, is put together by reactions to other images.

-When aware that the observer is the observed, he does not act at all. It is the awareness itself which had revealed that the observer is the observed.

-When the observer realizes that the thing about which he is acting is himself, then there is no conflict between himself and the image. He is that ! If something is you, what can you do? You cannot rebel against it or run away from it or even accept it. It is there. So all action, that is the outcome of reaction to like-and dislike, has come to an end.

Ch10-Freedom from the known

-What can be described is the known, and the freedom from the known can come into being only when there is a dying every day to the known, to the hurts, the flatteries, to all the images you made, to all your experiences - dying every day so that the brain cells themselves become fresh, young, innocent.

-Meditation is to be aware of every thought and of every feeling, never to say it is right or wrong but just to watch it and move with it. In that watching you begin to understand. Out of this awareness comes silence.

-The meditator is absent, the mind emptied itself of the past.

It is truth that liberates, not your effort to be free."

"If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation."

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

"When I understand myself, I understand you, and out of that understanding comes love.".TruthTruth

"Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. ... The moment you follow someone you cease to follow Truth."

Ch11-Silence

-True silence is beyond sound and pause, controled or stilled mind, It cannot be described.

-In that silence there is a state of energy in which there is no conflict. Energy is action and movement. All action is movement and all action, desire, feeling, thought, living, life is energy. If that energy is allowed to flow without any contradiction, without any friction, without any conflict, then that energy is boundless, endless. When there is no friction there are no frontiers to energy. It is friction which gives energy limitations.
