About Unfu*k Yourself Book
Joining the ranks of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, You Are a Badas*, and F*ck Feelings comes this refreshing, BS-free, self-empowerment guide that offers an honest, no-nonsense, tough-love approach to help you move past self-imposed limitations.
Are you tired of feeling fu*ked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unfu*ked version of yourself. ''Wake up to the miracle you are,'' he directs. ''Here's what you've forgotten: You're a fu*king miracle of being.'' It isn't other people that are standing in your way, it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive, it's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.
In Unfu*k Yourself, Bishop leads you through a series of seven assertions:
I am willing.
I am wired to win.
I got this.
I embrace the uncertainty.
I am not my thoughts; I am what I do.
I am relentless.
I expect nothing and accept everything.
Lead the life you were meant to have—Unfu*k Yourself.

Get out of your head and into your life.
Reading this book is like holding a genuine friend in your hands.
The style in which this author goes through 'the seven personal assertions' was a much needed reality check to say the least.
'This is a conversational slap from the universe to wake up to your true potential, to unfuck yourself and get spectacularly into your life'.

This book requires you to seek the answer, not out there, but inside of yourself.
Its not that you have to find the answer, you are the answer.

Research in neuroscience and psychology shows that the kind of talk you engage in impacts the quality of your life.
Studies have continually evidenced that positive self talk can dramatically improve mood, boost confidence, increase productivity and much much more. It can be one of the key components to a happy, successful life.
The reverse is also true that negative self talk can put us in a bad mood and leave us feeling helpless. It makes small problems seem bigger and creates problems which didnt exist before.
Your self talk is fucking you up in ways you cant even begin to imagine.

“Circumstances don’t make the man, they only reveal him to himself.”

The way we talk to ourselves and others instantly shapes how we perceive life, and that same perception directly impacts our behaivor.
If you are that kind of person who complains all the time about how “unfair” life is, you’ll probably start act according to that view.

95% of what we do in our day-to-day life is controlled by our subconscious.
That means that out of all the things you say or do, only a tiny fraction of them are with true sense of volition.

HOW TO UNF*CK YOURSELF Here's how (5 STEPS):
Bad shit happens.
Sometimes it's our fault, sometimes it's just an unfortunate coincidence.
But by taking responsibility, we can learn how to manage disappointment and make better plans for the future.

Some people are born rich.
Some are born poor.
We can't always control our circumstances, but we can control how we react to them and overcome challenges.
Focus on the things you can control, and forget about the things you can't.

Lasting success rarely comes as the result of luck, you have to position yourself correctly to recognize opportunity and be able to act when it appears.
That positioning is the result of being perceptive and taking action!

Instead of wasting time worrying about the things other people have, start focusing on what's really important to you and your life.

Once you adopt the mindset of "I am unwilling," you will no longer be filled with guilt, resentment, and regret every time you see something you think you "want."

Sometimes declaring your unwillingness can be just as powerful as declaring willingness.

Self talk is an important lever in one's self development. After reading the first chapter of this book, here're some thoughts which occurred to me!
Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail !
— Alan Lakein, American Businessman
What's the secret that subtly influences the behavior of failing to plan?
Well, its quite common for all of us to plan things.
And sometimes fail at completing all in time.
Given this, the usual tendency is to overstretch ourselves.
We do so with more commitments and put more efforts.
We believe it'd at least minimize the piled up backlogs.
So, things we deem important could be on track.
There’s a catch in overstretching like this for important things on priority..
3
Psychologists say we usually underestimate efforts needed to achieve long term goals.
It happens since our vision of future self just extrapolates our present self.
And this significantly undermines our ability to clearly define our future self.
This in turn leads to under-assessing the efforts accordingly needed a few years later.
What if there’s a better workaround to get this right?
2
So, here's a simple 3 Step process which we can consciously practice!
It definitely works even if we don't know what our future self should be.
It takes a different approach to minimize the tendency of failing to plan.
More importantly, it helps us to be more effective in finishing things on time!

While laying on my bed, eating some mini cucumbers and scrolling down YouTube for entertainment, I stumbled upon this audiobook. I want to say it changed my life, but I can't make that claim at this moment ( It's only been a few hours since I've listened to it) I really had to look at myself and ask, "Wtf have you been doing?" I'm good at a lot of things, but I'm not great at any of them. I want to be successful at something, but I'm not actively doing anything to achieve it. So, this is the now, this is the moment where I am actively taking charge of my success. Wish me luck! ❤️
