Phlebotomy is when someone uses a needle to take blood from a vein, usually in your arm.

*Also called a blood draw or venipuncture.

Therapeutic Phlebotomy-

  • Removes extra red blood cells, unusually shaped red blood cells, or extra iron in the blood.
