MORE IDEAS FROM THE ARTICLE

Spend 33% of your time with people below you. They need you. It is humble to help.

Spend the other 33% of your time with people equal to you. These people are your friends.

Spend the last 33% of your time with people above you. This is the path most people forget about. So for example you want to build a 1 million dollar company, then talk to someone who has already built a 10 million dollar comany. This is called the 10X Rule. Such people should be 10 or 20 years ahead your path.

Most good mentors are dead. But we have them in our books! You should read a book a week . Tai can read a book a day. He looks at the contents, then he flips all the pages, then he does it again, and finally he reads 1 chapter of the book.

He says most books have not more than 2 or 3 worthy ideas.

Learn to persevere. Tai's friend went to a mentor's office 17 times to seek his guidance and just get rejected till the 18th time.

Learn to do cold emailing. it ain't possible for you to eat lunch with every mentor you meet. Here is a link for cold emailing- https://youtu.be/_wQGd6Crkaw

All people want a good life, but not all people get a good life.

All people want a good life, but not all people get humble enough to get a good life.

All people want a good life, but not all people read enough to get a good life.

All people want a good life, but not all people persevere enough to get a good life.

All people want a good life, but not all people toughen up to get a good life.

Unhappiness results when expectations don't meet reality. These gaps where reality lags behind from expectation are called exectation gaps. Expectation gaps can be classified in 3 types-

  1. Imagination gaps- Ex- You are finding hotels to go into, and places to visit. Now you imagine that the places are gonna be awesme and clean. The next day you go there and see litter everywhere. Your imagination lagged behind reality.
  2. Interpersonal gaps= Other's reality vs your reality. Like arents tell that kid, you can be in NASA too. But the kid doesn't become that in future. What happened?
