Psychologist, B.F. Skinner put a pigeon in a box and gave it food at regular intervals irrespective of what it was doing. He noticed that the pigeons believed that they were given food because of what they are doing; like hopping around etc.
This behavior was called as 'superstitious belief' by Skinner.
