The Odyssey Plan

The Odyssey Plan

Ask yourself 3 questions:

  1. Five years from now, what does my life look like? Does it excite you?
  2. Five years from now, what does my life look like if I were to take a different path? Does it excite you?
  3. Five years from now, what does my life look like if I didn't have to worry about money or societal expectations?

You don't have to commit to one of these paths.

The purpose of this is to know what it means to have a life that I love and generate ideas.

Experiment

Experiment

  • After generating ideas, don't think of being successful with them first. Just think of them as experiments to know if you actually enjoy doing them.
  • If the fear of even just getting started is stopping you from experimenting, do the smallest step you can take first.

Iterate

Iterate

If a method doesn't work, don't quit right away. Just think of another method.

  • For example: if your gym coach isn't good in helping you meet your ideal gym experience, it doesn't mean you don't want to be fit anymore. Just get a different coach.

The Measure Of Success

The Measure Of Success

"I'm a recovering perfectionist, so I ask what is the goal and what does 'good enough' look like for each task on my list. Then, I rate the importance of the task on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest. Now, you have a measure of success and an idea of how to achieve ...

Disappointed

We can ask ourselves five questions when faced with disappointment, that will help us to cope better with it:

  1. Why am I disappointed?
  2. What could I have done to prevent it?
  3. How will I perceive this disappointment in five years?
