Watching the news makes us feel like we’re doing something when we’re not.

We feel bad ignoring the bad stuff that happens in the world. So we keep watching:  Because watching disasters unfold, even while we do nothing, at least feels a little more compassionate than switching off.

Find a good social environment

The community we live in helps us bring balance. We don’t all grow our own food, make our own shelter, and provide our own entertainment. We have to keep three things in mind.

  1. We need respect. Some roles in life make us feel valued and worthy but give little comfort....

Why we avoid doing certain things

We often spend our days doing everything but that difficult thing we're dreading to do.

This happens because we're trying to protect ourselves from uncertainty. We don’t want to feel like we don’t know what we’re doing, to look stupid or to to feel overwhelmed.
