Setting The Stage Part 1: Savasana Pose

  1. Find a quiet time and place to practice Yoga Nidra, taking a mini-vacation from the world.
  2. Turn off your smartphone and let others know you are not to be disturbed.
  3. Wear comfortable, loose clothes and make sure the place you lie down on(the floor or the bed) is comfortable and grounding.
  4. Use the ‘savasana’ pose of Yoga which works best for Yoga Nidra, though advanced practitioners can use any pose.
  5. Though you will get sleepy, and may even have dreams lasting a few seconds, it's best to try to stay alert during the practice.
  6. Welcome any unease, discomfort, emotions, memories, and eventually move towards your natural state of being.
