The most meaningful things in life are often in the most simplest of forms. It's only when you start diving deeper into the understanding of those things that you realise the depth of their roots.
The two most fundamental phrases we've been taught in our childhood in order to instill manners into us were Thank you and Sorry.
On the surface it seems like a sweet gesture towards the person on the receiving end, but what's overlooked are the internal implications of developing this habit.
Thank you signifies the act of being grateful, possessing gratitude for the events in your life.
Sorry, a simple word, means letting go of your ego to create acceptance for your mistakes or immoral deeds.
Enriching our lives with gratitude and keeping our ego aside takes us a step further in becoming a virtuous person. So by saying sorry and thankyou, you're not only affecting the world externally, but also creating happiness and acceptance internally.
Ofcourse, it is to be understood that these things should be done in moderation.
As being too grateful can stop you from achieving your goals and cause stagnation in life.
Being too sorry can make you be perceived as vulnerable by others and people might take advantage of this.
So thank you for reading this and sorry if it took too long. <3
