When you use this trick over and over to perform annoying tasks, it leads to the ability to build positive habits.
The key is: The 3...2...1 has to be engrained in your brain enough, that whenever you start the countdown, no matter what the task, you will do it.

All of us have great ideas, things we want to do today, or in the near future. However, we have trouble to find motivation and inspiration to go get it done.
Next time a task crosses your mind twice, that you don't want to do, use the 3...2...1 trick. Start counting down from 3 to 1, and when you hit 1, stop everything that you're doing. Go finish that task.
Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.
