When you become wealthy, you'll realise that you were not really looking for it in the first place. You're still the same person. If you're happy, you're happy. If you're unhappy, you will still be unhappy.  Most importantly, you can't buy a fit body, a calm mind, and a house filled with love. You have to earn it.  Many external battles happen because the internal state is out of control. But when you're naturally internally peaceful, you'll be more loving without expecting anything in return, which will take care of the external relationships.

Work on your internal state

If there was a quick way to get rich, it's already been exploited. If someone is selling you a get rich quick schemes such as crypto or an online business or seminar, that's often their scheme to get rich by making money off you. If anyone is giving advice on how to get rich and they're also making money off it, it's suspect. It's like learning how to become fit from a fat person. You can't take advice from an economist on Bitcoin or a business journalist on the latest company that's IPOing. They're critics and don't know enough about making money.

Get rich quick schemes

Find out what is unique to you that you're good at and apply leverage. Ask if what you do is authentic to you. And then, ask if you are productising it. Are you scaling it with labour or capital or code or media? So, making money is not a skill. It is who you are, done a million times.

Productize yourself

<ul><li>People often don't understand what specific knowledge is or how to get it. </li><li>People don't understand what accountability consists of. It means you have to be willing to fail publicly. You have to let people criticise you.</li><li>Don't refuse to do things just because other's can't. Work with the hand you're dealt with. Then use it to fix the world.</li></ul>

Anybody who wants to be entrepreneurial and wants to reliably improve their ability to create wealth is patient and looking at it from a long-term view. Pay attention to who is getting leverage off of the work you're doing. Look who's above you and above them and see how they're taking advantage of your time and work and how they're applying leverage. People naturally do this when they move up the corporate ladder. You want to manage capital, products, media and community.

Working for yourself

You generally will do better in a smaller organisation as you will have more accountability and your work will be more visible. You're likely to try different things, which can help you discover what you're uniquely good at.  The long-term goal is to work for ourselves. People working under us are essentially robots. People working above you is someone to learn from and improve upon. If someone is below you, it's because you're teaching them. If you're not teaching them, then you don't need a human, but a robot.

Discover what you're good at

Everyone has a personal moral code. When you are in business long enough, you'll realise that much of it is about trust. You don't want to reevaluate every discussion or continually look over your shoulder.  When you are ethical, you'll attract other long-term players and force people that live on lies out of your network. In the short run, being unethical pays, but in the long run, you will get paid. Everyone will want to deal with you. You will have trust and reputation.

Envy can motivate you to find the right thing. If you're doing work that you don't like, envy can motivate you to find something better. But it can also eat you if you let it follow you your entire life.

Envy cuts both ways

A principal is an owner. An agent is an employee. The principal's incentives differ from the agent's incentives. The business owner wants what's best for the business and what will make the business successful. The agent wants what will look good to the principal or make them personally the most money. If you're an employee, your most important task is to think like a principal. Train yourself to think like a principal. Ask "What would the founder do?" If you think like a principal, it's a matter of time until you become that.

Find a way to eventually work for yourself

<ol><li>If you're an employee or in a lifestyle business, your aim is not to get wealthy but to have a job, family and life.</li><li>However, the founder, who works very hard, aims for something different. They are working towards the gold medal and trying to build a multi-billion dollar company. They have to get everything right, have great judgement, find the right team.</li></ol>But working hard is only one of three parts. The other parts are what you work on, and who you work with. Shortchanging on any of these three will lead to difficulties.

Work as hard as you can have two meanings

Ensure that you work with the best people possible. Pick the people with the highest intelligence, energy and integrity. When you've set your bar, raise it.  People don't consistently work 80 to 120 hours a week. They sprint for that long when they feel inspired, then take long breaks, reassess, and try again.  That is because inspiration is short-lived. When inspiration strikes, use it.

Work with purpose

When you have to do something, get it done. Do them as quickly as you can and with full focus. Then, be patient with the results. You likely dealing with complex systems and a number of people. It takes time for people to get comfortable working together. When there is a problem, don't rest until a resolution has started.

Impatience with actions, patience with results

Networking is important early in your career. You'll desire to "do coffee" and build relationships. But later in your career, you have more things coming at you than what you have time for.  This makes it vital to ruthlessly cut meetings. First, see if a simple text would suffice. If a meeting is necessary, then keep it short. People will want to meet with you if you have something important or valuable to offer. When you meet people, it will be because you developed a reputation and a unique point of view.

Don't do meetings without an agenda

If you want to get paid, you want to be the best at whatever you do. It can be niche. For example, Oprah gets paid for being Oprah. Keep changing what you do until you can use your specific knowledge, skillset, position, capabilities and interests to be number one. Don't compete because you will compete over things that are not worth it. Instead, be authentic. Specialise in being you. Nobody can compete with you when you build or market things that's an extension of who you are and where you can find a product-market fit.

Working for the long-term

When you've applied your specific knowledge, judgment, accountability, and reading, you'll eventually get what you deserve.   Everyone wants to make money quickly. But it doesn't work. You have to put in the time. You have to put yourself in that position with your specific knowledge, accountability, beverage and skillset and enjoy it and keep on doing it. The outcome will be how much leverage you can apply to your specific knowledge, how you can improve, h many times your judgement is right, and how accountable you are for the outcome.

It takes time

Most advice is what other people find helpful for them, but it may not apply to you.  There is something you can learn, but you can't take their exact circumstance and apply it to yourself. If you get advice, decide if it is true in your context and figure out how you can apply it. The most dangerous part of receiving advice is that the person won't be around when the advice doesn't apply to you anymore.

One is the money game.Money is not going to solve all of your problems, but it’s going to solve all of your money problems.Many people believe they can’t make it; so they don’t want any wealth creation to happen. They virtue signal by attacking the whole enterprise, saying, “Well, making money is evil. You shouldn’t do it.”But they’re actually playing the other game, which is the status game. They’re trying to be high status in the eyes of others by saying, “Well, I don’t need money. We don’t want money.”

We’ve been playing it since monkey tribes. It’s hierarchical. Who’s number one? Who’s number two? Who’s number three? And for number three to move to number two, number two has to move out of that slot. But you play them because they’re a necessary evil.To win at a status game you have to put somebody else down. Make Abundance for the World

We can see that by seeing, that in the First World, everyone is basically richer than almost anyone who was alive 200 years ago.The engine of technology is the science that is applied for the purpose of creating abundance. So, I think fundamentally everybody can be wealthy.Imagine if everybody had the knowledge of a good software engineer and a good hardware engineer. If you could go out there, and you could build robots, and computers, and bridges, and program them. Let’s say every human knew how to do that. We would all be then living in massive abundance.

Everyone can be rich

Capitalism is not something we invented. It is in us in every exchange that we have.
When you and I exchange information, I want some information back from you. I give you the information. You give me information. If we weren’t having a good information exchange, you’d go talk to somebody else. So, the notion of exchange, and keeping track of credits and debits, is built into us as flexible social animals.
It is innate to the human species, and we are going to create more and more wealth and abundance for everybody.

One of the things I think that is important to making money when you want is the kind of reputation that makes people do deals through you.If you’re a trusted, reliable, high-integrity, long-term thinking deal maker, then when other people want to do deals but they don’t know how to do them in a trustworthy manner with strangers, they will literally approach you and give you a cut of the deal or offer you a unique deal just because of the integrity and reputation that you have built up.

In almost any salaried job, even at one that’s paying a lot per hour like a lawyer, or a doctor, you’re still putting in the hours, and every hour you get paid.What that means is when you’re sleeping, you’re not earning. When you’re retired, you’re not earning. When you’re on vacation, you’re not earning.Renting out your time means you are not creating much original for society. And so your set roles can be taught. If they can be taught like in a school, then eventually you’re gonna be competing with someone who’s got more recent knowledge and is coming in to replace you.

If you can do both, you will be unstoppable.That’s when you get true superpowers. That’s when you get people who can create entire industries.A living example is Elon Musk. People who understand the underlying product and how to build it and can sell it, are catnip to investors, they can break down walls if they have enough energy, and can get almost anything done.

You should be able to pick up any book in the library and read it.Start off just reading wherever you are and then keep building up from there until reading becomes a habit.Take your natural path and just read the things that interest you until you kind of understand them.it is important that you read foundational things, they are the original books in a given field that are very scientific in their nature.Also, make sure that you’re building a frame of understanding because you’re putting together a foundation for skyscrapers, and you’re not just memorizing things.

Read What You Love Until You Love to Read

It’s not the means of education or the means of learning are scarce, the means of learning are abundant. It’s the desire to learn that’s scarce.

If you understand them, then you have the basis for understanding the scientific method. Once you understand the scientific method, you can understand how to separate truth from falsehood in other fields and things you’re reading.It’s better to go through a book really slowly and struggle and stumble and rewind than it is to fly through it quickly.To lay a foundation for learning, you need two things. Persuasion and programming.If you’re good with computers, good at basic mathematics, good at writing, good at speaking, and if you like reading, you’re set for life.

Some of the things taught in business school are just anecdotes (case studies). They’re trying to help you pattern match by throwing lots of data points at you, but the reality is, you will never understand them fully until you’re actually in that position yourself. Doing is faster than watching, so you’re going to learn a lot more about running a business by operating your own.The number of ‘doing’ iterations drives the learning curve. the more iterations you can have, the more shots on goal you can have, the faster you’re going to learn. Society will reward you with responsibility, equity, and leverage.if you look at a Kanye or Elon or anyone like that, these people can get rich just off their name.A well-functioning team has clear accountability for each position.It is really important because when something succeeds or fails if it fails, everybody points fingers at each other, and if it succeeds, everybody steps forward to take credit.When you put your name out there, you take a risk with certain things. You also get to reap the rewards and benefits.

When you’re negotiating with other people, ultimately if someone else is making a decision about how to compensate you, that decision will be based on how replaceable you are. If you have high accountability, that makes you less replaceable.If you look at the hierarchy of capital in a company, the employees get paid first. The equity holders get paid last and take on greater risk but in exchange, they get the nearly unlimited upside.When every member of a team can take on accountability for their portion you get a well-functioning team.

Learn to sell and build, embrace accountability and be willing to bleed everyday.

The oldest form of leverage is labor, which is people working for you. It is the worst form of leverage that you could possibly use.You want the minimum amount of labor that allows you to use the other forms of leverage.Capital is a powerful form of leverage. It can be converted to labor. It can be converted to other things. It scales very well.If you have specific knowledge in a domain and if you’re accountable and you have a good name in that domain, then people are going to give you capital as a form of leverage that you can use to then go get more capital.

The new generation’s fortunes are all made through code or media. Joe Rogan making 50 to 100 million bucks a year from his podcast, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg are all code-based leverage.
Add in Capital and you have a magical combination.
Coding, writing books, recording podcasts, tweeting, YouTubing, these kinds of things, are permissionless. 
Also, the robot army is here, They’re inside the computers. All the circuits, It’s very cheaply available the bottleneck is just figuring out intelligent and interesting things to do to them.

Product and Media Are New Leverage

It’s the nature of code and media output that the same product is accessible to everybody. Status goods are limited to a few people. 
The best products tend to be at the center, at the sweet spot, the middle class, rather than being targeted at the upper class.
If you care about ethics in wealth creation, it is better to create your wealth using code and media as leverage because then those products are equally available to everybody.
Technology products and media products have such amazing scale economies that you always want to use the product that is used by the most people.

Product Leverage is Egalitarian

An ideal business model has network effects, low marginal costs, and scale economies.
Scale economies: the more you produce, the cheaper it gets. This builds up an automatic barrier to entry against competition and getting commoditized.
Technology products especially, and media products, have this great quality where they have zero marginal cost of reproduction.
Joe Rogan is working no harder on his current podcast than he was on Podcast number 1, but on Podcast number 1,100 he’s making a million dollars whereas for the first one he probably lost money.

Pick a Business Model with Leverage

Bob Metcalfe, coined Metcalfe’s Law: the value of a network is proportional to the square of the number of nodes in the network.If a network of size 10 would have a value of 100, a network of a size 100 would have a value of 10,000. It’s not just 10 times more, it’s 100 times more, because of the square.A network effect is when each additional user adds value to the existing user base. Your users themselves are creating some value for the existing users. Things that have zero marginal costs of reproduction very often tend to have network effects. Money and language are great examples.

Laborers get paid hourly and have low accountability.General contractors get equity, but they’re also taking accountability and risk.Property developers pocket the profit by applying capital leverage. Judgment is knowing the long-term consequences of your actions. The best way to do that is to study everything, including a lot of philosophy. it makes you more stoic, less emotional. so better decisions

Judgment Is the Decisive Skill

No one is going to value you more than you value yourself. Set a high personal hourly rate, and stick to it.Say you value your time at $100 an hour. If you decide to spend an hour driving across town to get something, you’re effectively throwing away $100. if you want to get rich, it has to be your top priority. It has to come before anything else, which means you can’t penny-pinch.If you can outsource something for less than your hourly rate, outsource it or don’t do it. Your hourly rate should seem and feel absurdly high. If it doesn’t, it’s not high enough.

You should be working on your product and getting product-market fit, and you should be exercising and eating healthy. That’s about it. That’s all you have time for while you’re on this mission.

Time as we know it started on October 22, 1884.Hours were invented much later and seconds hundreds of years later. The first mechanical clock was built during the Renaissance.

How We Decide What Time It Really Is

Even after the invention of "Time", problems(a lot of them) were there. Like if your watch showed 10:20 and your friends watch showed 10:27 who was right? In the 19th century an English woman named Ruth Belville saw this as an opportunity and started syncing people's watch to hers telling them her time was correct.

We didn't really needed timezones before that because there wasn't any need for it. People couldn't travel to the other half of the world back then and certainly couldn't communicate with people in other time zones.Time standardising became a thing when trains started as it became very annoying to change your watch's time every few minutes.

To combat this the US President Chester A. Arthur called a conference of 26 countries.Finally on October 22nd, 1884 the world was put into timezones in 1 hour deviations and the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England was set as the reference.
