We Are Living In A Post Modern Tribal Society

As we come a long way from being dwellers of forests to being to be sympatisers of the tribes, we clearly have built up a world cutting the roots and still want to sit under the shade.

Reciprocation in the workplace

Organizational psychologist Adam Grant lays out three key reciprocation styles found in the workplace:

  • Takers see the world as a hypercompetitive rat race. Since they assume that no one else will look out for them, they place their own interests first and last.
  • Matchers operate tit for tat. When people do them a favor, they repay in a capacity that is no more, no less. And when they help someone, they expect the same in return.
  • Givers focus on others more than on themselves. They pay close attention to what people need from them, whether it’s time or ideas or mentorship. A rarity in the workplace.

Question for you, what is your favorite word in the universe?

It’s your name. Same for everyone else.

So start remembering names.

Firstly, if you don’t know someone’s name, it becomes blatantly apparent within seconds, and that’s bad if you should know it.

Second, names hold a great power to influence people positively (let me expand on this)

Once you know someone’s name, you own a part of them, you can grab their attention and make them feel good whenever u want.

USE THIS POWER to make friends, to move up in your career, to become more likable, to make people happier.

Sincerely, Ben eidlisz

Techniques for dealing with others
  1. Do not criticize, do not condemn or complain: God does not intend to judge man until the end of his days. Why, then, should you or I judge him?
  2. Show honest and sincere appreciation: The difference between appreciation and flattery is very simple. One is sincere and the other is not. One arouses universal admiration; the other is universally punished.
  3. Arouse in others a burning desire: If there is a secret of success, it lies in the ability to appreciate the other's point of view and to see things from that point of view as well as your own.
