Let The Grass Grow By Making A New Track

Let The Grass Grow By Making A New Track

  • You develop a habit by doing the same thing over and over again. This creates networks on your brain which eventually automatizes what you're doing, and soon you're on autopilot.
  • A visual representation of this would be to imagine yoursef entering and leaving a forest multiple times using the same path, and unbeknownst to you, you have created a track. You then find yourself using this track all the time.

Removing And Developing Habits

  1. To change a bad habit you must first separate your identity from the labels you put on yourself such as "i'm a procrastinator; i'm lazy." Because no matter how often you do it, it doesn't define your whole being. It's just a habit -which can be changed.
  2. Think about your Triggers. When do you get lazy? Is it when things get difficult? Is it when you pick up your phone? Understanding the root of your problem helps you find a solution; like putting your phone away from your working space or turning it off.

3. Whenever you find yourself leaning towards your bad habits again, call yourself out. If you must, you can do it out loud.

4. Reward yourself. Whenever you did steer clear of your bad habits, celebrate your small wins. It could be of any form, candy, foods, things, etc. This reinforces the networks you're trying to build in your brain.

After a decent amount of effort, discipline, and consistency you will find the grass growing on the old track you don't use anymore while you were creating fresh tracks.

This app is LOADED with RELEVANT, HELPFUL, AND EDUCATIONAL material. It is creatively intellectual, yet minimal enough to not overstimulate and create a learning block. I am exceptionally impressed with this app!
