The 10 Rules of Creation

If you work from a place of creating what you want to create, you will always work from the true self.

But the ego will get you excited over the possibility of getting attention. You might believe this excitement is the same as desire. It is not. If you still create, even though you receive no acclaim, you are creating from your true self.

Creation is really a transformation. You take raw materials and transform them. 

You see the potential of something that is, take your idea and see the possibility of it becoming something else.

Creativity loves boundaries. Boundaries make your creative ability stronger. It forces you to find connections.

The most important part of creating is not having an idea: It is how you handle the conflict between your ideas and the limitations of your raw materials.

The pattern of creating is a cycle of birth, growth, death, rest, then birth again. It is always a forward movement.

With each creative rebirth, you bring into being a new version of yourself. It is powered by all the skills, experience, and knowledge you have accumulated along the way.

Every attempt, failure or success has something to teach you.

Your creative work continues, even in your sleep. You are always processing, analyzing, connecting.

It can cause frustration if you stop creating in the daylight.

You can only see your next move. Creation itself is fluid. 

Every step you take, you influence, and thus, change the array of possibilities for the step after.
