Definition mindfulness

Definition mindfulness

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us.

Mindfulness is the quality that every human being already posseses, it is not something you can conjure up, you have to learn how to acces it.

Mindfulness is a natural quality we all have in us. We can use it at any moment throughout our day if we take the time for it. Mindfulness might seem simple but it't not necessarily all that easy.

  1. Take a seat: Find a place where you can sit quiet and comfortable.
  2. Set a time limit: Set a timer to guide you for how long you will be mindful.
  3. Notice your body: Sit however you want, be sure you can be in that position long.
  4. Feel your breath: Follow the sensation of your breath as it goes in and out.
  5. Notice when your mind has wandered: Your thoughts will leave the sensation of the breath and wander to other places. When you notice this give yourself a moment before returning.

This app is LOADED with RELEVANT, HELPFUL, AND EDUCATIONAL material. It is creatively intellectual, yet minimal enough to not overstimulate and create a learning block. I am exceptionally impressed with this app!
