When we don’t track something or write it down, it’s easy to forget. Have you ever set goals, never to look at them again? Of course you have! I’m sure we’ve all done this at least once.
This is why I love tracking my goals. When you have a system in place where you regularly check in with yourself, daily, weekly, etc. this forces you to hold yourself accountable.
Once you start tracking your goals, you’re able to see the small, day by day progress that you might not otherwise notice.
Last month I decided that I’d set a goal of walking 10,000 steps per day, 7 days a week. Keep in mind that I work from home so this has been a great way to force myself out of the house and to keep moving.

Tracking has also forced me to be brutally honest with myself in a way that I never have before.
We often overestimate how often we do things, but tracking eliminates this weakness. When we track we just have the facts, not our subjective reflections.
This also showed me that some goals were really easy for me and that I had no problem meeting or exceeding these areas , whereas, other areas of my life seemed to be more of a struggle for me.
When you have the data in front of you, you can see where you’re struggling and make the necessary adjustments to improve.
This certainly happened for me. I am often surprised how much fun I have tracking my goals. When I first started, it seemed like a necessary chore to keep myself in line. However, as I’ve continued on, I find that I now really enjoy the process of tracking and seeing myself grow and make progress in so many areas of my life.
Whether you’re completely sold on Goal Tracking or not, I want you to consider this. When it comes down to it, Goal Tracking is really about two things,
