The latter is a mighty terrain where innumerable anxieties, as well as possibilities, smolder.

Analyze your life to elicit what you are doing wrong. Using your good judgment and willpower, stop doing it today. You need to conduct an audience by yourself and stop blaming others (the government, God, your boss, etc.) for everything that went awry in your life. Hewing away self-destructive behaviors we become stronger and get to see clearer into the future.

Many of us postpone the pleasure of living today for the sake of preparing for the future. If that seems meaningful for you, then pursue it.

Meaningful Or Meaningless ? 

There are many things to be thankful for each day. As the day ends, try to enlist everything good that took place: a tasty cup of coffee, a cute animal you petted on the street, a polite shop assistant, etc. When you try to concentrate on the positive ones, you will see that they outweigh the nuisances. This revelation will help you preserve the strength you carry in you. Make good things happen. Pet a cat when you see one on the street.

Positivity Must Outweigh. 

There is still a kind of suffering — suffering for the sake of suffering. Many people even derive immense pleasure in this self-inflicted torture. Why? We tend to choose suffering over strength when we are reluctant to resolve complicated life situations. With time, our brain gets used to chemical and hormonal bombs and tells our body that suffering is the only emotion it wants to experience.

Qualia are the subjective or qualitative properties of experiences. What it feels like, experientially, to see a red rose is different from what it feels like to see a yellow rose. Likewise for hearing a musical note played by a piano and hearing the same musical note played by a tuba. The qualia of these experiences are what give each of them its characteristic “feel” and also what distinguish them from one another. Qualia have traditionally been thought to be intrinsic qualities of experience.

It is not enough to while away this precious existence in transient actions which will vanish and regenerate... It is the responsibility of us to learn, and by learning dispassionately with devotion we get closer to the deepest knowledge of this existential realm. What good is it, if we acknowledge in our prayers that God is the Father of us all and in our daily lives do not treat every man as our brother?

The feeling of want is the real prayer, not the words. But you must have patience to wait and see if your prayers are answered.

Despondency is not religion, whatever else it may be. By being pleasant always and smiling, it takes you nearer to God, nearer than any prayer.

Mother is the first manifestation of power... She is the sum total of the energy in the universe... Established in the idea of Mother, we can do anything. She quickly answers prayer.

When a man prays to God, 'Give me this, and give me that,' it is not love. How can it be? I offer you a prayer, and you give me something in return; that is what it is, mere shop-keeping.

Is prayer a magic formula, by repeating which, even if you do not work hard, you gain miraculous results? No. All have to work hard; all have to reach the depths of that infinite Energy. Behind the poor, behind the rich, there is the same infinite Energy. It is not that one man works hard, and another by repeating a few words achieves results. The universe is a constant prayer. If you take prayer in this sense, I am with you. Words are not necessary. Better is silent prayer.

I would like to help people through the words in this book, as they helped me when I was young. This is the second chapter called 'Prayer' of the book 'Way to Success by Swami Vivekananda'  published in abridged form by Ramkrishna Mission ashram, rajkot.

Doing is very good, but that comes from thinking. Little manifestations of energy through the muscles are called work. But where there is no thought, there will be no work. Fill the brain, therefore, with high thoughts, the highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life -- think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

If you have assimilated five ideas and made them your life and character, you have more education than any man who got by heart a whole library.

It is thought which is the propelling force in us. Fill the mind with the highest thoughts, hear them day after day, and think them month after month.Never mind failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life, these failures.What would life be without them? It would not be worth having if it were not for struggles.

The only remedy for bad habits is counter habits; all the bad habits that have left their impressions are to be controlled by good habits. Go on doing good, thinking holy thoughts continuously; that is the only way to suppress base impressions.

Always remember that each word, thought, and deed, lays up a store for you and that as the bad thoughts and bad works are ready to spring upon you like tigers, so also there is the inspiring hope that the good thoughts and good deeds are ready with the power of a hundred thousand angels to defend you always and forever.

Let positive, strong, helpful thought enter into their(children's) brains from very childhood.

Evil thoughts, looked at materially, are the disease bacilli.

The body is made by the thought that lies behind it. The body politic is thus the expression of national thought.

If we make ourselves pure and the instruments of good thoughts, these will enter us. The good soul will not be receptive to evil thoughts. Evil thoughts find the best field in evil people; they are like microbes which germinate and increase only when they find a suitable soil.

Those who are always down-hearted and dispirited in this life can do no work.

I found a small book called way to success by Vivekananda when I was 14 years old. I have just copied the text from there, I have not interpreted the text in any way. It is archaic but shows a way of thought. This is the first chapter. I hope to do the rest of them gradually.
