When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save money. That’s a very LIMITED LIFE. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact. THAT IS—EVERYTHING AROUND YOU THAT YOU CALL LIFE WAS MADE UP BY PEOPLE NO SMARTER THAN YOU. And you can change it. You can influence it. . . . Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.

There’s no point dwelling in the past and letting it define you, nor in getting lost in anxiety about the future. In the present moment, you’re in the field of possibility. How you engage with the present moment will direct your life.
This is Bending Reality.
Think of happiness in the now and vision for the future as two ingredients that can be combined, but that have to be in balance. Too much of one or the other creates imbalance and limitation. Depending on how they’re combined, at any moment in life, we can be in one of four different states of mind.

BENDING REALITY: This is the ideal state where you’re happy in the now, and you have a vision for the future that drives you. Your vision pulls you forward, but you’re happy now—despite not having yet attained that vision. When you’re in this state, there’s a feeling of growth and enjoyment. It’s about the journey as well as the destination. An interesting observation about this state is that it often seems as if the universe “has your back"!

Have big goals—but don’t tie your happiness to your goals. You must be happy before you attain them.
We shouldn’t do things so we can be happy. We should be happy so we can do things.
Extraordinary minds are able to bend reality. They have bold and exciting visions for the future, yet their happiness is not tied to these visions. They are happy in the now. This balance allows them to move toward their visions at a much faster rate while having a ton of fun along the way. To outsiders, they seem “lucky.”
