Check-in with yourself

Check-in with yourself

Before deciding on acting on anything because you feel out of place at work of feel like you don't belong, take time to ask yourself these questions:

  • Do my feelings have more to do with how I perceive myself than how other people see me?
  • Do I need to adjust my own self-esteem?
  • Am I really experiencing the feeling of "not belonging" or do I make myself seem that I do not want to belong?

We all have preexisting insecurities and doubts about ourselves and because of this we tend to only focus on the evidence that supports what we're already thinking.
