Happiness is amazing. It's so amazing, it doesn't matter if it's yours or not.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.

We're not just here for us. We're here for others. All we've goth is each other. We've got to help each other struggle through till we die and then we're done.

Even though I'm in pain, it's worth sticking around to maybe make my little corner of the world a slightly better place.

I think the beauty of the show lies in the lessons it tries to teach you. We learn through Tony that although life might be a rats' nest of misery, we can still help others. We can strive to do our bit, for the simple reason that others feel better because of it, and that feeling alone is powerful.

It's not just about you

Tony suffers so much, and is sarcastic almost always. However, it's really this that allows him to connect with people. He's not just using humour as a shield to deflect any emotions. In the beginning he is, but we start seeing how humour can be used to cope, to actually deal with our issues. It gives us a different way to view the world, one not only tainted by malevolence and pain. It is so simple, yet so joyous to watch Tony share a laugh about something that actually hurts him so much.

Humour is pure

After watching After Life S1 on Netflix, I was just blown back at how deeply it affected me. The show switches between being a full-on makes-me-want-to-cry show and the best comedy show. It has a wonderful cast of characters, with events that either try to teach us a lesson or make us genuinely burst out laughing. Felt I had to share some of the joy and value I got from the show.

Four types of humor

Tap into the real things that happen to you and bring a little bit of humor into it. People will appreciate that and relate to the situation. Doing this will create beautiful, shared moments between you and them, as they will identify themselves more with you and drop formal behavior, allowing a closer bond to form.Make sure not to force anything when it comes to joking around. Frustration can easily build up when you’re mocking real-life situations

Shared truths create the foundation for humor

When you tell a story, try to escalate it and surprise the other person. Exaggeration works only if you take your interlocutor by surprise and turn your story around unexpectedly. Then, be as specific as you can. When you introduce elements such as colors, details about a place, a smell, a sound, or anything else that can give life to your tale, you make it easier for your readers to understand you, as you’re building up a mental image for them.

Compare something from your story to an outrageous example. Have your story stand out by making relatable, easy-to-get analogies. This will give your interlocutors a sense of deeper understanding of your tale and it will also entertain them better.

Use analogies to your advantage

List two expected things and a third unexpected element. Since our brain is used to patterns, it will automatically pay closer attention to something that doesn’t follow one and stands out.

When two people play a similar game in the same room, they form a strong neurological and physiological connection. They show the exact facial expressions; their heartbeats also settle into the same rhythm – and this occurs irrespective of whether they’re playing with or against one other.And the connection goes more than that: we’re also very likely to like the people if we’re playing a game with them. The reason for that is because we’re attracted to people we see that alike to ourselves.

The impact games have on your life doesn’t rest on the type of games you play or the time you use to play them. It basically talks about the possible fundamental particle of mass, and the presence of other dimensions of space-time.

What is string theory?

<ul><li>The problem faced in newtonian physics(and by Newton himself) was that, although he could mathematically calculate gravitational pull, he was baffled by HOW this gravitational force was exerted through an inert medium like space on a celestial object so far apart.</li></ul>But it could be successfully, mathematically be applied to astonomy, except for the 'how'.

Now, coming to Einstein's era,he postulated that,<ul><li>space time has got 4 dimensions(including time), (like Newton did), but he also managed to explain the how, which Newton couldn't.</li></ul>According to Einstein, <ul><li>without any matter on the fabric of space time, it appears to be flat and linear</li><li> when matter is present, this space-time fabric warps and curves around that matter, alongwhich gravity attracts.(check pic)</li></ul>

<ul><li> Theodor Kaluza, theorized that electromagnetism(just like gravity) exerts its effects as warps and curves in a 5th dimension (including time).</li><li> Furthermore, using the assumption of the existence of a 5th dimension, he could also successfully mathematically derive out, not only einsteins equation, but also the equation for electromagnetism.</li></ul> That is it formed the basis of a unified theory, where every other physical theories could be derived from.

<ul><li>Oskar Klein, went a step ahead to postulate that there are relatively smaller dimensions which are curled up, located at a microscopic level of the larger dimensions. </li><li>just like how an electric cable from afar seems to be single dimension, but for small ants on the cable, there are much more dimensions(clockwise/anticlockwise) to that cable than a single dimension as perceived by the observor.</li></ul> <ul><li>That is according to Klein, ultramicroscopic enlargement of the visible dimensions could lead to the demonstration of, curled up microscopic dimensions.(check image)</li></ul>

We have even gone further and found that, these micro particles are made of packets of energy called quarks.</li></ul>

<ul><li>According to string theory, quarks are actually constituted of dancing, filament like form of energy, which looks like a vibrating string. </li><li>And these can vibrate in different patterns(frequencies), leading to production of different types of particles based on the vibrating frequency. </li></ul>This is the ultramicroscopic landscape of the universe. The matter within matter.

String theory's mathematical implication

<ul><li>The geometrical shape of the ultramicroscopic landscape, is called as Calabi Yau manifold, and is postulated to be one which folds in on itself.(see pic) </li><li>The shape of the landscape is thought to be what determines how the filaments of energy vibrate. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Since, we have only observed the existence of 4 dimensions(including time), but have mathematically figured out the existence of 7 more dimensions, many experiments are being conducted to empirically observe them.</li><li>One such experiment, done in the large hadron collider, where, particles moving near the speed of light are allowed to collide head on, to see if any resulting debris (called as gravitan) enters into any of these unknown dimensions.(This is calculated by measuring the total energy before and after the collison, lesser energy after the collision implies energy has been lost somewhere).</li></ul>

Our minds need decluttering too. Whenever we are occupied by things that are not helpful, we are burying the good things underneath. Leave the things that don’t bring us joy, don’t let them steal our peace.

Make a list. Are there any important things that you’ve wanted to do but never started? How important are they? What is making you delay them?
Understand whether and how these things are important. Then decide how to tackle the challenges preventing you from starting them. When everything is clearer, make a plan and follow it.

Clear Your Procrastination List

Daily practice of mindfulness will help you detach from your emotions and watch them from above. Many times we are worrying without recognizing it.
Worrying is the biggest unhelpful thing that can occupy our minds. It takes up so much space that we can’t enjoy the present. Mindfulness will help recognize it as soon as it emerges. When it does, acknowledge it and let it pass like a cloud in the sky, then move on with the present. Don’t let your worrying control you.

Stop Worrying

When you ignore or delay something that you promised to do, it still stays on top of your mind. Whenever you do something else, your brain will remind you that you should have been doing that other thing instead.
This is not helpful. Declutter the negative emotions for yourself so you can free up space for productive action.

Follow Through on Promises and Commitments

We can’t focus on ourselves when our brain is occupied with emotions related to someone else, or anger and hate of the world. We need inner peace before we can focus on the present. Let go of those emotions that you bear inside.
Your emotions will only affect you, not anyone else (unless you act on it). Find your closure if you need it, but let it go.
