Wha it is Willpower?

Wha it is Willpower?

It is the ability to do activities that get us closer to reaching our goals. This can be spending more time going to the gym or getting up earlier, anything that helps us to accomplish our objectives.

Willpower has a lot to do with our planning and self-control. So in order to develop it, we need to be consistent.

Techniques to increase willpower:

  • Meditate: sit, free your mind and breathe. Do it for 10 minutes 3 times a week.

How to change our Habits?

How to change our Habits?

  1. Identify each part of the habit, identify what is the true origin of the desire, then the trigger or what makes us start this circle.
  2. Replace or eliminate elements, it can be the trigger or the routine.

Remember it is changing a habit, not eliminating or removing it.

We must bear in mind that a habit stays with us forever since it is part of our brain. Therefore, it is practically impossible to remove it. The trick is to change it.

Setting goals

Setting goals

  1. Determine what we want to achieve. The more details the better, for example, some want better health or learn a new skill.
  2. What are you willing to give something in return. Nothing is free, and we will always have to sacrifice something to get something.
  3. Set the date. By doing this, we will have committed ourselves and we will be fully responsible for our actions.
  4. Have a plan. Creating multiple milestones along the way, putting together a realistic timeline, and being consistent.
  5. Write it down. This is a formal contract, which works as a commitment to ourselves.
  6. Read it. Once a day to remember.
