Paradigms

Paradigms

A paradigm is the way you see something; it's your point of view, frame of reference, or belief. Paradigms are like glasses.

Sometimes our paradigms are way off the mark, and as a result, they can create limitations in our life.

For instance: if you believe you're weak in maths, that very belief will make you really weak though you have potentials .

Paradigms About Life

Paradigms About Life

You can usually tell what your paradigm is by asking yourself a few questions like :

  • What is the driving force of my life?
  • What do I spend my time thinking about ?
  • Who or what are my obsessions?

Whatever's most important to you will become your paradigm, your glasses, or your lIfe center.

And Principle-Centered life is The Real Thing. Like, honesty is a principle, hard work is a principle. A principle centered life is the most stable , unshakable foundation you can build upon.

The Personal Bank Account (PBA)

Just like a checking or savings account at a bank, you can make deposits into and take withdrawals from your PBA.

PBA deposits :

  • Keep promises to yourself
  • Do small acts of kindness
  • Be gentle with yourself
  • Magnify your talents

On the contrary, PBA withdrawals can be like:

  • Break personal promise
  • Keep to yourself

The Relationship Bank Account(RBA)

The Relationship Bank Account(RBA)

RBA represents the amount of trust and confidence you have in each of your relationships.

Like the PBA (personal bank account) you can make deposits and improve the relationship or take withdrawals and weaken it.Some deposits are: keeping promises, Being loyal to everyone, saying you are sorry when needed. On the other hand, withdrawals are the opposites of these ; such as: breaking promises, gossiping about others, talking too much, being arrogant etc.

Habit:5 Seek first to understand, then to be understood

Habit:5 Seek first to understand, then to be understood

People won't express their soft centers unless they feel genuine love and understanding.Once they feel it, they will tell you more than you may want to hear.

So, when someone is speaking try to understand first.Don't pretend you are listening, don't judge the speaker from your self-centered view, don't try to advise without understanding everything first.

Try to listen with genuine interest and care.
