It would be easy to ascribe these tendencies to a simple quirk of evolution—a kind of mental tic encoded in our genes. But what if the cognitive biases we exhibit when making choices are not limited to us? What if these biases are basic emergent properties of any system forced to make decisions with limited mental resources?
In order to get inside the “black box” of humanity’s irrationality when deciding between many options, researchers created a simplified mathematical model of how a machine—an “automaton”—would make choices.

Making Decisions

Automatons are decision-making algorithms expressed mathematically rather than in code. These automatons commit the same “mistakes” that humans do when making decisions. An automaton may exhibit a “primacy” effect, in which it tends to pick one of the first items on a list. An automaton may also exhibit a “recency” effect, in which it goes for the last item on a list.
The ability of automatons to mimic human behavior, and the fact that they are built from mathematical first principles, means automatons can be used to formally analyze the fundamental tradeoffs that we face when making choices.

When decision-makers are satisficing, it is not hard to see why they would be more likely to choose an item that appears earlier on a list, because they stop as soon as they find one that meets their pre-existing criteria, and might not even look at every item in a list. 
Contrast this strategy with rational decision making, which is a standard assumption in many economic models. It turns out that making a decision “rationally”—which in economics terms means analyzing every possible option—requires a great deal of cognitive horsepower.

Rational Or Irrational Decisions

Humans are neither perfectly rational decision-makers nor strict satisficers, no matter how Spock-like or impulsive any individual may seem.
A history-dependent satisficer automaton has some ability to remember what options it has seen before and to modify its criteria accordingly. The more memory this automaton possesses, the closer it gets to the choices yielded by rational decision making. The more states the automaton has, the better a decision it can make.

The effects that researchers derive using mathematical analysis show up everywhere in the real world. Humans are more likely to vote for candidates who appear first on a ballot, more likely to click on options at the top of their computer screen, and more likely to give high scores to competitors who appear first and last in a competition.
There was even a lawsuit in the 1980s in which the federal government forced American Airlines to stop putting its own flights above those of its competitors in American’s computer reservation system.

Psychologists and behavioral economists have established that humans exhibit a number of fairly predictable biases in their decision making. For example, when offered a menu, people generally choose one of the first items on it or the very last item.

When I sprint, more often then not I burn myself out and end up walking slower than I was before I started running or I have to stop to catch my breath.

This same thought can be applied to habits and productivity, like when we get really excited about a new diet or routine or resolution, but after a couple weeks it's not as exciting and we slow down and let life keep going or worse: we regress.

Our life isn't a sprint, and neither are our lifestyle choices and habits. It's a marathon, and we have to be in it for the long run, one step at a time. By applying principles like "1% better every day" we can make major lifestyle changes that don't feel like major lifestyle changes, it just feels natural. One step at a time.

Sleeping Time must be 7-8hrs, Now a days we have disturbed our sleeping cycle in this period of Covid. So to make a proper SleepCycle you have to sleep on a Daily Fixed time & wake up at the daily fixed time so, that you can make a Proper sleep cycle you should take sleep of 6-8hrs of sleep.

Rule No 1. Sleeping Time:

You Make sure to avoid all the distractions from the devices like social media etc. you spend this 1 hour with yourself by doing some kind of exercise, yoga, Meditation & Reading the Self-help book. sitting In front of the sun or the proper sunlight while having one cup of black/ green tea or coffee.

Rule No 2. 1st Hour of Day:

It Means if the first thing you do in the morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the rest of the day knowing the worst is behind you. Your frog is your worst task, and you should do it first thing in the morning.

Rule No 3. Eat that frog first:

Make a Proper Road map of your Goals. So basically when you have a road map of what you have to so it will help you to make To-Do list. make sure you make a road map not a timetable because when you make Long Term timetable it will put a burden on you as compared to Road Map. Psychologically when the human brain senses a Heavy Load it will start to Procrastinate the work. as you make a whole timetable for the whole year or something like that... Make sure to structure a Road Map.

Rule No 4. Make a long Term Road Map:

This is particularly for those students who are preparing for Competitive exams. it will help you to be focused in studies.

Rule No 5. Avoiding Functions/ Program/ Party:

While you are studying or Working makes a Proper Priorities. if you are studying then always put 2 subjects on High Priorities, same in your work. it will help you to Simplify your work.

Rule No 6. Things on the Priority:

The human brain only retains up to 10% of the whole reading you did, whenever you Finish your reading or whatever make sure to write it in one book. So while next time you go through it you will get a proper understanding.

Rule No 7. Use the 10% rule for Revising & Remembering from the book:

Whatever you Retained & wrote in the book (Refer rule 6) just go through it once or twice & again see what is Important. write it in your Language. (NOTE: while Compressing the content don't lose main content).

Rule No 8. Make a proper Flash Card:

If you Understated the above 2 points then it will be easy for you. 3-4 times read book & 2-3 Flashcard & the things you wrote in the book of 10% rule.

Rule No 9. 5-6 times Reading for long-term Remembering:

As mentioned above to make Road Map, After making a road map you have to do a TO-DO list. to-do is far different from Time table. so don’t make a timetable, make a To-do list. Click Here to Know to Make a To-do list. when you make to-do it will let you know the productivity of the day. If you follow it 70-80% of it then you have achieved & your day was productive.

Rule No 10. To-Do Reality:

Use your ego as your strength, by making a proper announcement in-home, friends, family, etc. that you have planed & what you are going to do.

Rule No 11. EGO as Strength:

If you are a student Then don't fill your stomach full. keep it just 75% filled, if get hunger eats again but don’t eat full. Because when your stomach is full then, Oxygen of brain reduces & goes to your stomach to digest the food you consumed, due to low Oxygen in brain you start felling Sleepy & Feel lazy.

Rule No 12. Fill your stomach only 75%:

Environment isolation makes all disturbance out of your Room, Make a proper study table and chair. Use Proper light & whenever you are studying that time only On that light and don't do studies in the bed mainly in winter Seasons. By doing these things your subconscious mind gets triggered by such activities for a long time it will help you to be more productive in your studies and work.

The Pomodoro Technique is a Time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have—rather than against it. Using this method, you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks. ... After about four pomodoros, you take a longer break of about 15 to 20 minutes.

Rule No 14. Pomodoro technique:

You can do Long hours of Sitting. by using the above method (Pomodoro Technique) Keep your Sitting like: 2hr+2hr+3hr      = On Week Days. 2hr+2hr+3hr+3hr  = On Week Ends.

For example, it could be getting up, opening the laptop, getting the required notebooks, etc. These are easy tasks. Whenever you feel you are procrastinating, start with small steps, tell yourself that you only need to get up and open the laptop, that's it. This could prevent you from procrastinating.Task: The actual taskPost-task: these could include cleaning up the table after use or keeping back notebooks at the place, etc.

Every task, every commitment should be written down. This frees your mind from the energy- and attention-sucking job of trying to remember. Dopamine (also known as the feel-good hormone) is a chemical produced by the body, which acts as a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) in the brain. You do various activities throughout the day. You find some interesting and you think you can do them all day like playing games, and some are just so boring like studying maybe. This is because whenever you play games, it gives you a sense of reward and that triggers dopamine production in your brain. While activities like studying are low dopamine-producing and that doesn't excite you much.

So the simplest explanation of dopamine detox is "Avoid your pleasures and temptations for some time." You just have to leave whatever is your distraction for a week and observe the change.Avoid your pleasures and focus on things like studying. You will observe that after some time you will start enjoying studying. Because you will not get dopamine through games but from studying (I have tried it myself!)However, this doesn't mean that you will not enjoy your pleasures anymore. In fact I have no doubt you could sit in front of a screen and do both of those activities for 2 hours, or even longer without breaking your concentration. But what about half an hour of studying? That might be too hard. How about working on your side business for another hour? Doesn't sound too appealing. Even though you logically know that studying, exercising, building a business or something equally productive, will bring you more benefits in the long run, you still prefer watching TV, playing video games and scrolling through social media. One might argue that it's obvious why. One activity is easy and doesn't require much effort, while the other activity is difficult and it requires you to apply yourself. But some people seem to have no problem studying, exercising, or working on their side projects, regularly. Which begs the question: Why are some people more motivated to tackle difficult things? And is there a way to make doing difficult things, easy? Practicing detachment is part of life.I’m not trying to say that success and happiness are bad things to be chasing, it’s just that I came to a realise : chasing something too hard can lead to a lot of expectations and attachment to the outcome of a situation, which in itself can lead to suffering. What will they say? What will they decide?

The Art of Detachment: Learning to Let Go

We all know by now that an outcome in any given situation is unpredictable. There are too many factors to know exactly what might happen. It may turn out the way we want, or it may not, but there’s no way to know which way it’ll go. Letting go of the outcome is a practice to work on every day. With our heart wrapped up in it, we become like sailors hoping for the blessed sight of land after a long voyage, anxiously waiting for that first sight of the green shores of our homeland, the place where we belong.

Eat The Frog First : Simple Time Management Hack

Everyday, you have a lot of tasks to do. Some are habitual like brushing, bathing, eating breakfast, etc. Some are interesting, that we will love to do and some will be boring and extremely difficult. Those difficult and boring tasks are your frogs for the day. These are the tasks you are most likely to procrastinate.Finish the most boring, ugliest task of the day at first. It will help you set priorities and you won't have to procrastinate more!

Study the most boring or the most difficult subject in the morning, so that you won't procrastinate it for later and neither will you get worsen in the subject. Also if you study it almost everyday you will hopefully start to hate it a little less. After you finish studying that subject for the day, you have ample of time for other things to do!
